More Relevant Traffic in Your Marketplace: How to Use Qps Adapter Filter on Demand Side?

4 reviews

Today we are introducing a feature that enables you to generate more relevant traffic for your demand partners in SmartHub – a QPS adapter filter. When activated this feature will analyze the traffic, learn what types of traffic DSPs prefer, and then it will send more of such traffic to these DSPs. Optimizing your traffic automatically a QPS adapter filter will contribute to the precise traffic allocation and effective matching of supply with demand.

How Does QPS Adapter Filter Work?

On your SmartHub platform, you have an adapter that analyses what kind of traffic your connected DSPs bid on (according to many parameters). By doing this it learns what kinds of traffic are the most preferred by each DSP. As soon as the QPS adapter analyzes what kind of traffic generates the most bid responses it starts to send more of such traffic towards DSPs that need it.

What kind of parameters are taken into account? The work of the QPS Adapter is sophisticated as it analyzes the inventory based on a variety of traffic parameters, like:

  • country
  • size
  • device type
  • secure/non-secure
  • connection type
  • OS

This is not the complete list of all the keys that undergo the analysis, it is just a small part of what is taken into consideration when the throttling system sends out more QPS to specific endpoints. The majority of traffic that goes through the adapter this way will be relevant to the prioritized parameters. The remaining (smaller) volume is not getting sorted by adapter but it is also passed to DSP as it helps to learn new parameters e.g in case DSP’s requirements regarding traffic change. This small volume is just enough for DSP to start bidding to traffic to which it didn’t bid before.

Where to Find QPS Adapter Feature On Your Ad Exchange Platform?

A QPS adapter filter works on the demand side. In order to activate it go to main and create a new connection on the demand side. In the opened window you will see the QPS adapter checkbox, click on it to activate the option (as featured on the screen).

Disabling the adapter. By unticking this checkbox “QPS Adapter” you can disable the in-built throttling system, meaning the traffic will be sent to DSP endpoints without the analysis of the adapter.
